​I am Maria Jaramillo, the artist behind Sugarlowdown.

I grew up in Colombia, which might explain my love of bright colors and my dislike of winter weather.

In my twenties, I came to New York on an adventure and fell in love not only with the city, but also with one of its citizens. So here I am many years later, having grown deep roots and a beautiful family that inspires me every day and cheers me on to create more art. We love traveling together and I draw a lot of my inspiration from the places we visit.

 

I have a background in graphic design and a sharp eye for color and type. My designs usually feature custom lettering and bold vibrant palettes. They are versatile and work across a wide range of products.
