Maria Jaramillo, the artist behind Sugarlowdown, is a New York–based print and pattern designer originally from Colombia.

 

Known for vibrant color and modern charm, she draws inspiration from nature and the birds she spots while birdwatching—turning everyday sightings into standout surface designs for a wide range of products. Her work is also shaped by travel adventures and life with her kids.

 

With a background in graphic design, Maria brings a sharp eye for typography and loves weaving type and hand lettering into her work.
